Lower Eyelid Entropion

Entropion is a condition where the lower eyelid turns inward. When this happens, the eyelashes rub against the eye surface and cause constant irritation. It is most common in older adults because of aging and weak eyelid muscles. Sometimes it can also happen after an injury, surgery or infection. If it is not treated, it can lead to infections and damage to the cornea. People with entropion often feel discomfort, redness and watering of the eye. Correcting it is important to protect the eye and restore comfort.
